Handmade brooms made the old fashioned way by using simple tools, a little elbow grease and a healthy sprinkle of imagination. Made to be both aesthetically pleasing as well as fully functional. Each broom would look right at home in Old Sturbridge Village or leaning against the hearth in the Salem Witch House. Visitors to the market will enjoy a selection of sweeping brooms, hearth brooms, besoms (traditional round brooms or witch’s brooms) cobweb brooms, hand whisks and altar brooms make for both ritual and everyday use.
Everything sold is made right here in Salem, MA and often with locally foraged materials. For instance, many of the broomsticks are made from branches that blew down in Forest River Park during the Halloween Nor’Easter of 2021. The name Amuck Broom Company is a nod to Salem’s most famous Halloween movie and often elicits a smile and nod from fans!
