Horror is a reflection of the real-life terrors in our world. It can disturb but it can also alleviate anxiety, depression, and trauma. We feel less alone when our fears are acknowledged. Facing them can be empowering. It reminds us that we’re still alive and develops empathy for all those in struggle.
Its power is doubted and dismissed by the narrow-minded. But it’s ok. Horror is best suited for the shadows. Where we watch. Where we learn.
Where we feed on the ignorance of others.
Salem Horror Fest is a cultural exploration of fear through the lens of horror.
While Salem is unsafe and Hollywood is on hold, we are determined to keep the spirit alive by creating a unique festival experience that is 100% focused on the community by elevating as many voices as we possibly can. This your chance to pitch an article, podcast, panel, film, lecture, evil mastermind plan – whatever! This year’s program will be crowdsourced to deliver the ultimate horror fan experience.https://twitter.com/salemhorrorfest
