My illustration work is deeply rooted in cosmic horror, gore, historical events and extremely remote places in nature. Minimal to no color is used to bring forth, highlight and emphasize feelings of dread, fear and isolation. The thematic elements of my work mainly consists of unpleasant creatures of the deep, skeletons, plague, the undead and faraway landscapes of the Eastern Woodlands lost to time. Works are mainly displayed as black and grey framed and unframed prints, teeshirts and “Metal” style back patches. As a contemporary Indigenous artist I also use traditional materials of my heritage. Infusing a new concept of horror themed medallions, bracelets, earrings and art on a traditional medium my ancestors used, Birchbark with traditional Eastern Woodland application of porcupine quills.
