The Witchery is a welcoming and inclusive art space that is dedicated to helping people uncover their creativity through broom-making, bookbinding, and a slew of other bespoke traditional folk arts. The owner, Gret McGilvray, is committed to helping her staff pursue and develop their wide range of artistic passions. Deep Sea Magick, a local, artist owned business, has been working closely with The Witchery since 2023 to offer spelljar-making workshops as well as carefully crafted art available in The Witchery’s retail space. The Witchery’s style is more traditional and rustic while Deep Sea Magick’s aesthetic is nautical, futuristic and dark; supported by a plethora of available materials and options, The Witchery and Deep Sea Magick are both devoted to encouraging artistic expression and creativity. Our hope is that each crafter is leaving with a unique piece of art embodying their personal voice. If we were to earn a spot at Haunted Happenings our plan is to use one table to sell The Witchery’s broom-making and bookbinding kits-to-go and to use the other table for Deep Sea Magick’s Spelljars, as well as other handmade divination tools such as scrying mirrors, pendulums and charm casting kits.
