The Cabot Announces October Events Calendar
It’s a “Nightmare on Cabot Street” this month
(Beverly, MA – October 2, 2023) October at The Cabot brings the start of the Kids at The Cabot season, classic horror films for the “Nightmare on Cabot Street” series, and legendary artists to Beverly.
This month features headlining acts such as The Vampire Circus, Stephen Marley, Lyle Lovett and Leo Kottke, Melvin Seals and JGB, The Zombies, Face2Face, Who’s Bad?, and The Wood Brothers. The Cabot will host an annual fundraiser, “Frankie’s Voice” on October 6, in remembrance of Frankie D. Raffa Jr, to aid young people who suffer from substance use. Laura Doherty & The Heartbeats will kick off the 2023-24 Kids at The Cabot series on October 14.
The “Nightmare on Cabot Street” film series returns with nine classic horror and Halloween-themed films on the big screen, including: “They Live,” “The Shining,” “The Wicker Man,” “Friday the 13th,” “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” “Psycho, “ “Night of The Living Dead,” and “Beetlejuice.” There will be a special $1 movie screening of “Gremlins” on Halloween, co-sponsored by Greater Beverly YMCA for middle and high school students only. The Cabot will also host a screening of the classic concert film, “Stop Making Sense” on October 19.
The Cabot’s Community Conversations series presents “What We All Can Do About Gun Control: A Discussion With Leading Activists,” sponsored by Leading Ladies and other community partners on October 25. This evening will feature a virtual interview with David Hogg, co-founder of March for Our Lives, and a panel discussion with John Rosenthal, co-founder of Stop Handgun Violence; Rebecca O’Brien from Moms Demand Action, and more.
Off Cabot brings more comedy and live events in an intimate setting to Beverly with Ovarian Cancer Benefit Concert, Broadway Bar, QWILL, Brian Glowacki, Off Cabot Comedy Showcase, Wheel of Awesome-Live Band Karaoke, Tony V., Jon Daly, The Betsi Feathers: Halloween Burlesque, Jimmy Dunn, Kelly MacFarland and a fresh lineup for the Sunday Songwriter Series.
