Hocus Pocus fans all around the world are eagerly waiting for September 30th. Why? Because the 30th is the release date of the sequel, Hocus Pocus 2. That is 29 years, 2 months and 15 days since the original was released in 1993.

So how can you celebrate this sequel while you are at the Haunted Happenings Marketplace this October? There will be plenty of chances for that.

Become That Witch

Looking the part is one of the easiest ways to channel your inner Sanderson sister. Regardless of if you’re going for Winifred, Sarah or Mary, there are vendors who can help you with that.

First stop is Evercrumbly & Witch for a hand crafted hat.

“[Evercrumbly & Witch creates] hand crafted hats made with traditional millinery methods and high quality materials. All of the hats are made entirely from scratch, base hat and all in a Massachusetts workshop. Come for a wide range of quality Witch hats, headpieces and select capes and dusters to complete your witchy ensemble.” [Source]

Once you have a hat, be sure to browse for a cape or duster as well to complete the look.

Coven Beauty

For those seeking a bit more or a little extra, look no further than Coven. Coven Dark Boutique offers clothing, beauty products, fx makeup, jewelry, regular makeup and more to complete the entire transformation and become that witch.

“Coven is a local store that sells a wide variety of items. This year you can find custom clothing, spell kits procured in-house, prints from local artists and a few other great finds!” [Source]

Get your camera ready

The Haunted Happenings Marketplace takes place on the Salem Common as well as Derby Square at the Old Town Hall.

On one side of the Salem Common is Phillips Elementary School which is where Maxi, Dani and Allison attempted to trap and burn the Sanderson sisters. Be sure to wander all of the vendors, artists and makers at the Haunted Happenings Marketplace on the Salem Common, then snap a picture of the school!

The Old Town Hall (shown at the top of this blog post) should also look familiar to you, as a Hocus Pocus fan. Max and Dani’s parents partied hard there despite warnings from the kids that the Sanderson sisters had been summoned. Make sure you grab a photo of this historic landmark while shopping at this Haunted Happenings Marketplace location as well.

Keep your eyes open for buskers

Salem is home to many fantastic buskers, cosplay artists and performers. There are several groups that often busk as the Sanderson sisters, including @sanderson_sistas shown above. Many of Salem’s buskers make a point of being out and about during weekends in October, especially as we approach Halloween, so keep your eyes peeled as you’re shopping the Haunted Happenings Marketplace! You never know who you may bump into.

The Haunted Happenings Marketplace takes place this October 2022 on the first, third, fourth and fifth weekends. We are so looking forward to seeing you all there! Be sure to tag us in your pictures @hauntedhappeningsmarket.
