This October here in Salem has been one for the books! We have been seeing record breaking numbers of visitors and the Haunted Happenings Marketplace has been bustling each weekend. We still have two more weekends left so if you haven’t made it to the Marketplace yet, there is time! I walked around downtown Salem last Sunday the 16th, beginning at Derby Square then making my way to the Common. Follow me around and catch a glimpse at what the Marketplace looks like and what you can expect to see.
There were tons of buskers out and about on Sunday, the pedestrian mall between Derby Square and the Salem Common had performers every few feet.
At this point I had looped the Old Town Hall and walked up Essex street towards the Salem Common.
I hope this photo diary and collection of images helps you see a bit of what the Haunted Happenings Marketplace is like! If you are planning to visit us please consider using public transportation to get into Salem and arrive early! The crowds increase as the day goes on. These images were taken late morning/early afternoon and by the end of the day the city had seen hundreds of thousand of guests. Arriving early in the day will allow you to shop our vendors, browse all of their incredible goods, take photos with the buskers and more without being in shoulder to shoulder crowds.
Have fun, be safe and we will see you this weekend and next for the final rounds of the Haunted Happenings Marketplace!
