About Moon Glory Gears
Moon Glory Gears brings functional art to the Haunted Happenings Marketplace in Salem, Massachusetts. Artist Erik Deary crafts fully mechanical pocket watches, locket watches, compasses, pins, and three-dimensional sculptures from antique watch gears and natural gemstones — a self-developed art form the studio remains the only maker of at the marketplace.
Every piece is a working assemblage of salvaged horological parts and polished stone: equal parts jewelry, sculpture, and machine. Gears turn, lockets open, and compasses point, making each object as tactile as it is decorative — a wearable keepsake with a distinctly steampunk character.
Returning to Salem Common in 2026
A returning favorite, Moon Glory Gears is back on Salem Common for the 2026 season after a standout year at the marketplace. With a craft found nowhere else on the green, the booth is a destination for collectors seeking one-of-a-kind mechanical art and gifts unlike anything mass-produced.
